CompBenefits Introduces New Open Enrollment Tools

September 29, 2004 (ATLANTA) – Reacting to the high level of change in employee benefit plans, CompBenefits has developed a new series of tools that help educate benefit purchasers. Major benefit consulting firms have identified 2004 as the year that many employers are increasing the level of responsibility workers must assume in making healthcare decisions. Based on feedback from clients, CompBenefits has proactively stepped forward with more educational materials and improved staffing to help guide employees through the dental and vision plan enrollment process.

Many employers give their employees a period of time near the end of the year to make decisions about what benefit programs they will use in the next year. This open enrollment period can be a high-pressure time for employees. Reducing that stress level is the focus of this new CompBenefits program. "We understand that employees are working harder than ever these days. Combine less time with increased responsibility for benefit decisions, and it's clear employees need more to help them than benefits providers have traditionally offered. The depth of CompBenefits' expertise in dental and vision healthcare plans makes it straightforward for us to develop expanded tools that help in this new environment," said CompBenefits Executive Vice President Steve Isaacs.

The new CompBenefits tools include more information designed to help an employee assess the specific economic benefits they get from the purchase of dental and vision insurance. This, combined with access to a high quality dental and vision network, is critical to making a good decision on the correct dental and vision plan. In addition, employers will have the opportunity to select from a menu of education services. Some of the program highlights include expanded information about dental and vision healthcare, specialized employee health meetings for managers, as well as Web-based benefit plan instruction. In addition to expanded support from CompBenefits employees, with the new program employers also can choose to have dental and vision healthcare professionals participate in benefit education meetings. "It's important to us that every employee understand what their options are so they can make the right decisions about dental and vision benefits," continued Isaacs. "With the new CompBenefits tools we are confident our clients will find that the enrollment experience is easier to navigate, even if there are changes to their benefit program. That's a win-win that we consider essential, and that's what we are now prepared to deliver."
