CompBenefits Announces "Next Generation" of Hybrid Dental Products; Success of Advantage Products Leads to Multi-State Rollout as CompanyDelivers Affordable, Flexible and Valuable Choices to Consumers

Atlanta, GA, August 30, 2006 - As consumers expand their role in making choices about the most flexible and cost-effective solutions for healthcare needs, CompBenefits, a specialized dental and vision insurance company with more than 40 years of experience, is rolling out its "next generation" Advantage product line to consumers in 10 states.

According to CompBenefits' Chairman, President and CEO Kirk Rothrock, "Our Advantage Plans are another example of listening to our customers and our distributors. With these dental plans, we have filled in the gaps that exist today between the benefits consumers want and their related premiums. Our new plans represent a powerful combination that should appeal to families throughout the U.S."

While the consumer-directed healthcare movement evolves, CompBenefits remains committed to product innovation within the dental industry by developing hybrid plans that provide new, customized options to balance cost, value and choice.

The Advantage product line includes five different dental plans, some of which can cost 30 to 40 percent less than most traditional dental insurance plans. All of the Advantage plans feature no hidden costs, no claims to file, no deductibles to fulfill, no annual maximums to reach, and no waiting periods.

Each plan also offers 100 percent coverage for preventive services, such as exams and routine cleanings. There are no dental benefit maximums, and the plans are "member-friendly" in that benefits remain consistent across one of the largest provider networks in the country.

"When we studied the status of today's dental industry, we realized that traditional dental benefits alone didn't give consumers and their families what they needed: flexibility, affordability and a wide range of benefits – all in one package" said Mr. Rothrock. "We've done that with this expansion of the Advantage product line, and the response has been very positive."

Because Advantage is so different from other types of dental plans, CompBenefits initially launched the program on a limited basis. The original Advantage product was so attractive that it quickly attracted the attention of large employer groups, particularly schools and government agencies. Among these institutions are:
  • Cincinnati Children's Hospital
  • Broward County Government
  • Tampa General Hospital
  • Barry University
  • ABC Distributing LLC
  • School Board of Pinellas County
  • Shelby County Schools
  • Norton Healthcare
Sales success from the initial pilot spurred CompBenefits to expand the number of Advantage plans available to provide employers with more opportunities to match the needs of their employees with exactly the right plan. Simultaneously CompBenefits is expanding the number of states where these innovative products are available.

Since common dental procedures are covered for a fixed co-payment (i.e. no hidden costs), and consumers receive a 20 percent discount off the dentist's normal fees for any procedure not specifically listed, the Advantage Plans offered by CompBenefits take independence to a new level for families and individuals who vote with their pocketbooks.

Says Mr. Rothrock, "We're confident that when compared side-by-side with any other dental plan in this country, our plans offer a distinct 'advantage' to all who seek flexible, meaningful, and cost-effective dental coverage. Our goal continues to be to provide consumer-directed plans that truly give our members greater control over their dental choices. That's why we introduced our Advantage Plans in the first place and the chief reason we believe our products are so popular."

CompBenefits' Advantage Plans are currently available in Florida, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee and Texas but approval is pending in Georgia and Illinois.
