ROSWELL, GA - August 25, 2004 - CompBenefits, a leading provider of dental and vision benefit plans, announced today that the addition of Martin County, Florida public schools to its client roster completed a contiguous sweep of South Florida county school systems. Other South Florida customers include the school systems of Miami-Dade, Broward, Monroe and Palm Beach counties. The addition of Martin County schools brings CompBenefits' total of covered educators in South Florida to over 100,000.
"We are pleased to be able to provide flexible, affordable dental and vision coverage to the men and women who dedicate their lives to educating South Florida's children," said Kirk Rothrock, CompBenefits CEO."We know it is critical to offer every possible benefit to recruit and retain the very best and brightest educators and administrators for this most important function in our society."
Rothrock partly credits CompBenefits' new Advantage Plan"hybrid" dental coverage with the company's success at Martin County and at other public school systems around the country. The Advantage plan offers a similarly simple and affordable copay structure that employees have long enjoyed in the classic DHMO. Advantage, however, provides more open access and larger provider networks typically associated with preferred provider (PPO) plans. The plan emphasizes prevention and cost containment, featuring no deductible or annual maximum, no claim forms, no waiting periods or pre-existing condition limitations, no pre-selection of a dentist, and open access to a specialist network at the same copay level as generalists.
"CompBenefits is proud of its history and strength in serving public entities, not only school systems but also other municipal, state and federal government agencies and beneficiaries," said Rothrock."We believe that those who serve the public, and those who depend on public services, can benefit the most from access to preventive dental and vision care as part of a continuum of preventive health care."
CompBenefits won their first public school account in 1979. The company provides dental and vision benefits to hundreds of public school systems throughout the country, covering hundreds of thousands of educators and administrators nationally. Other public agencies among CompBenefits' public sector clients in South Florida include the Governments of Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach as well as the Cities of Miami Beach, Hialeah, Plantation, Miramar, Davie and many others.
