Benefits
Performance Assurance Like the 1,200,000
members that VisionCare Plan covers, you will undoubtedly
appreciate the security that our benefits provide.
Easy Administration We do everything possible to make the plan operate smoothly for you.
Pre-Certification Advantage We provide a certified benefit form before a plan member receives service from a VisionCare Plan doctor. Doing this protects everyone: plan members, because they have no unexpected expenses; the employer, because unauthorized utilization is eliminated; and the VisionCare doctor, because payment for service is guaranteed.
Less PaperworkLess Hassle We minimize your paperwork. By providing us with monthly eligibility information and premium payments, you complete your administrative tasks. That's all you do. We do the rest!
VisionCare Plan benefits include periodic eye exams plus lenses and frames or contacts every 12 or 24 months. More specifically they include:
- Examinations: Our typical plan provides for members to receive once-a-year professional vision and eye health exams
with a complete analysis of visual functions, including a prescription for eyeglasses if needed.
- Lenses: The plan includes necessary lenses and the professional services connected with ordering, fitting, and adjusting them.
- Frames: VisionCare Plan covers a wide range of frames with an allowance designed to include the most popular styles. Plan members may also choose frames that exceed the limit and pay the difference in wholesale cost plus a modest service fee. (With a minor premium adjustment, any plan can include higher limits.)
- Eyeglass lenses: Single-vision, bifocal, trifocal, and other lenses are provided as needed. Plan doctors order lenses from contract labs and verify that the lenses conform to the prescription.
- Contact Lenses: When a network doctor gets
prior approval, the plan fully covers contact lenses after cataract surgery, for extreme problems that eyeglass lenses can't correct, or when certain conditions such as keratoconus exist. If plan members choose contact lenses for other reasons, the plan provides a contact lens allowance that replaces all other benefits, including the eye exam.
