CompBenefits Appoints John E. Lumpkins as Senior Vice-President of Sales
Atlanta, GA, April 19, 2006 - CompBenefits Corporation, a leader in the dental and vision insurance industry, today announced that John E. Lumpkins has joined the company as its Senior Vice-President of Sales. Mr. Lumpkins will have the primary responsibility for increasing membership and building margins, improving sales productivity and leading initiatives in all functional sales areas.

Lumpkins has more than 15 years of experience in the insurance industry and a demonstrated ability to profitably grow revenues. Prior to joining CompBenefits, he was the Southeast Regional Vice President, Small Business Section for UnitedHealthCare in Atlanta where he oversaw a team of over 100 people and achieved significant growth in both ancillary product sales and new sales growth, including managing a strategic initiative to focus on municipal health insurance market. In addition, for over 10 years, Lumpkins served as a Vice President in various departments for Assurant / Fortis / John Alden Life Insurance Company where he ultimately had P&L responsibility for the John Alden small group health insurance product line valued at $800 million.

Mr. Lumpkins is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University where he earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He also completed the Wharton Executive Leadership Program. He is a member of the Georgia and the National Association of Health Underwriters and holds life and health insurance licenses in Georgia.
